This is probably the most impressive castle of the Loire Valley.

With 440 rooms, 282 chimneys, 77 stairways and many other impressive numbers, the castle of Chambord is a not miss site for those who stay in the region.

Discover the must-see double-helix stairway, the apartments of François the 1^st and Louis XIV, the royal chapel, the terraces and the forest area that is as big as the whole of Paris, etc, at 40 kilometres from our campsite.

Built on the Cher River, where the unique beauty of the Renaissance architecture reflects into the waters, the Castle of Chenonceau is the crown of the Val de Loire.

This enchanting castle is surrounded by a park and by French gardens which ideally complete the impression of delicate grace given by the monument.

Discover Chenonceau and its rich collections at 30 kilometres from the campsite. Renaissance furniture, tapestries from the 16th and 17th century and many master paintings. 

This is probably the best known castle in the Val de Loire by comics lovers!

Cheverny, private property belonging to the same family since more than six centuries, has indeed been an inspiration for Hergé, the writer of Tintin, he has used the design of this castle to draw the imaginary castle of Moulinsart.

The owners of the place invite you to discover a fantastic authentic, but living heritage, from the botanical park to the magnificent interior of the castle, the kennels, the exhibition on Tintin, the gardens and the forest, at 35 kilometres from our campsite.  

The castle of the Clos Lucé, at 19 kilometres from our campsite, invites to step in the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci.

Visit the home of this Grand Master, who has lived the last three years of his life in Amboise and discover his room, his study, and his furnished kitchen, decorated in Renaissance style. Admire also the room with scale models, where nearly 40 fabulous machines have been realised according to the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci.

Finally, the visit continues in the Leonardo da Vinci Park, where sounds, videos and giant machines ((tank, flying machine, Leonardian boat, etc.) permit to understand these inventions in a fun and interactive way.

The castle of Amboise, major place of the History of France, lies at only 19 kilometres from our campsite.

Discover this royal residence, remarkable for more than one reason and notably for its exceptional collection of Gothic and Renaissance furniture, witness of the artistic refinement of the first French Renaissance.

After the visit of the royal apartments and the impressive towers, the tour continues with the magnificent panoramic gardens dominating the Loire.

This favourite castle of the kings and queens of France during the Renaissance gives you nowadays the opportunity to discover in one single spot a complete picture of the architecture and the history of the Val de Loire.

The royal apartments, richly furnished and restored with care, show the daily court life and the power of the Renaissance. This all at barely 20 kilometres from our campsite!

This is one of the most enchanting castles of the Val de Loire. Built on a peak, perched 40 metres above the royal river, the property of Chaumont sur Loire welcomes you in its castle and its park, at only 7 kilometres from the campsite!

Once the property of Catherine de Médicis, Diane de Poitiers and the Princess of Broglie, this castle has a cosy, warm interior and is richly furnished. Its park welcomes since 1992 the International Garden Festival. Since, almost 500 temporary gardens have been created. The festival, at the same time innovating and incubator of talent, revitalises the art of gardens by showing constantly new flowers, new materials and new approaches.

Vintners since 1720, and implanted in la Touraine since three generations, Marina and Cédric Chollet have always worked the vineyard and the wine in a traditional way.

They welcome you in their wine cellar of the Domaine de Rabelais at only 5 kilometres from the campsite!

In the middle of a vineyard, at 15 minutes by car from Amboise and 33 kilometres from the campsite, the producers of Vouvray propose more than just a simple visit of their wine cellar.

A real immersion in the universe of wine with a guided visit of troglodyte caves, the discovery of modern wine tools, etc. Nothing better than a visit to the wine cellar of the producers of Vouvray to know everything about the universe of wine!

The aquarium of the Val de Loire, in Lussault, at 26 kilometres from the campsite, counts as one of the largest in Europe.

Some 10 000 fishes swim around in the 4 million litres of water of the aquarium. Most of the species come from European lakes, streams and rivers, but it is also possible to see deep sea water species from the tropical regions or the coral reefs  For those who stay in the region, a visit is unavoidable!

To put it simply, you can be in the position of Gulliver, that is what the Mini Castles leisure park is all about.

Situated in Amboise, at 21 kilometres from our campsite, this unique recreation park invites you to discover and rediscover the most beautiful Loire castles in giant steps!

Board the Safari Train of Autrèche, at 10 minutes from the campsite, a surprising ride through a wildlife park.

You can discover home reared big game, stags followed by deers and fawns, boars and their piglets, ostriches, bisons… On the site you’ll also find a game park for kids and an auberge, with on the menu different game specialities.

Classified among the 15 most beautiful animal parks in the world by Forbes Traveler, the ZooParc de Beauval lies at 40 kilometres from the campsite.

Over 27 hectares, there are around 4 600 animals living here, making it the greatest wealth and variety of fauna in France! The ZooParc de Beauval proposes a complete day of discovery with exceptional and mythical animals: the couple of pandas, the koalas and their babies, the lions and the white tigers, the sea cows, the okapis…

And not to forget the four tropical greenhouses and the shows with raptors and sea lions (during high season), etc.

Since more than 30 years one of the most famous biscuit factories of the region lies in Maslives, at two steps from the castle of Chambord and 42 kilometres from our campsite: the biscuit factory of Chambord.

It respects the ancient biscuit tradition and uses high quality raw materials. Its core product, the “Palet Solognot”, comes from a traditional recipe, a light crispy butter biscuit, filled with dried raisins soaked in rum… 

At the farm of la Cabinette, at not even 5 kilometres from the campsite, you can discover their local products, like the famous goat cheese with a registered designation of origin (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlé) the Sainte Maure de Touraine.

After the guided visit, you can buy the delicious goat cheese in their shop! Note that in the months of July and August, the products of the farm of la Cabinette are also present on the campsite’s local products market, held every Monday!

L’Atelier Saint Michel, situated in Contres, at 35 kilometres from the campsite, regroups a manufacturing location to visit and a shop where more than 200 biscuits and cakes are for sale.

Open the whole year round, l’Atelier Saint Michel invites you to visit its biscuit factory with a guide or to simply offer you a gourmand stopover!

Passionate about his work, the chocolatier Max Vauché shares his universe with you and invites you to dive into the flavours of cacao by visiting his workshop!

Discover the actively working chocolatiers and enjoy the keen piece of chocolate you can taste during the visit! And if you like to buy some yummy souvenirs, you can do so in the shop!

In the Cave of the Roches you can expect a genuine trip into the centre of the earth, dug in the soil of the municipality of Bourré, at 25 kilometres from our campsite.

This is the only and unique cave in the world where mushrooms are cultivated entirely, at 50 metres under the ground. The agricultural company is spread over almost 120 kilometres of galleries, divided over seven basements. This ancestral cultivation at a constant temperature of 13°C permits to obtain mushrooms with an incomparable flavour and taste.

Cycling lovers? Enjoy your stay on our campsite in the Val de Loire to make some nice cycling tours along the Loire!

Cycling along the Loire, in the immediate vicinity of our property, is a huge tourist cycling path of 800 kilometres. A unique cycle route in France, forming the West section of the Eurovelo 6, the large network of cycle routes throughout Europe. Enjoy this route to discover the most beautiful Loire castles by bike!

The Chouzy stables offer you lessons within a family setting, adapted to everyone’s level and aspirations. You can thus:
– Get on a pony from aged 4 in small groups
– Take the national exams in riding competency (levels 1 to 7) awarded by the French Equitation Federation (Fédération Française d’Equitation)

Come on an internship during the school holidays, go out in competition, host your horse or your pony!

Loire Kayak proposes kayak tours for everybody, you don’t have to be a great athlete! With a wide range of possibilities to navigate down the river, from 45 min to an entire day, you should try this unforgettable experience and admire the Loire Valley from the water!

Loisirs Loire Valley, at 10 minutes from the campsite, invites you to experience thrills during your holiday. Discover quad riding, archery and ultralight flying. Supervised by qualified educators, these activities will definitely surprise you!

At not even ten minutes by car from the campsite, the Golf de la Carte invites you to discover and enjoy its property, with a 9-hole course for experienced golfers and a compact 6-hole course, ideal to learn the putting green and practice range.

Aérocom Montgolfière, the most important balloon company in the region Centre, lies only 5 kilometres from our campsite! Since 1996 it organises balloon flights over the Loire Valley. What a sight, to see the castles of the Val de Loire from the sky!
